Vintage 1998

Grape blend : 60% cabernet sauvignon - 37% merlot - 3% petit-verdot.

The weather : A mild and wet winter. Spring was on average. Flowering a week in advance by the 10th of june. July was warm but lacked sunshine which august compensated with a spell of drought. Begining september things were looking glorious when two weeks of rain diminished our high hopes. Then sunshine and finally rain throughout part of the harvest at the end of september. Nevertheless a very good vintage.

The wine : Quite sturdy in the begining it is starting to show some suppleness. Good fruit with depth and style and a good grip. Will mature at its advantage into a charming, plummy and round wine. Classic.

Drink 2002 - 2008.
